Poly Stories | Mono Responses to Poly Identity
ENM Storytelling Evenings | Poly Stories invites you in the exploration of the wondrous world of non-monogamy through personal storytelling. Poly Stories is an initiative by Suzanne Allegonda.
Theme of the evening: Yes… But the body says no. Sometimes, the head goes faster than the body, or the other way around. It doesn’t mean that ENM is not for us, or that fantasies or needs cannot be fulfilled. When do we hold back, and when do we stretch ourselves? How do we strike a balance, deepening our ENM practice and relationships at a pace that works for us? Yes, no, maybe and the magical: not yet. In this edition of Poly Stories, we explore the power of vocabulary and learn to tune into body and mind.
Poly Stories | Shame & Guilt
ENM Storytelling Evenings | Poly Stories invites you in the exploration of the wondrous world of non-monogamy through personal storytelling. Poly Stories is an initiative by Suzanne Allegonda.
Theme of the evening: Shame & Guilt. You feel an urge so big, you either need to give in or be consumed by repressed desire. Based on what society told you what is normal, you might feel shame for wanting. Even when you’re both poly/non-monogamous, ideas, wants, needs and points of discomfort for the people involved may differ. Here guilt often shows its face. How do you ask for something that can bring temporary sadness to your partner, and infinite joy to yourself? When you want to confirm the other is giving you plenty, but you still want a little extra – and how to shake off internalised judgements, and focus on empowerment and exploration instead?
Poly Stories | Poly Holiday Seasons
ENM Storytelling Evenings | Poly Stories invites you in the exploration of the wondrous world of non-monogamy through personal storytelling. Poly Stories is an initiative by Suzanne Allegonda.
Theme of the evening: Poly Holiday Seasons. We all have our own relationship to the meaning of Christmas or New Year’s. This season is typically known for revealing hidden (family)dynamics. Bringing this into the mix of poly and self-chosen family and you easily see how navigating needs and planning might bring its challenges and not to forget. Not to forget, it also brings beautiful opportunities to shape our own unique rituals.
